Current portage version requires a lot of patches to work with python-2.6, besides having incomplete translations which break the app when using them. The attached ebuild is python-2.6 ready, seems to be working ok. Requires a little patch, which I'll attach as well. Reproducible: Always
Created attachment 207103 [details] New ebuild
Created attachment 207105 [details, diff] Patch for empty dictionary insertion Withouth this patch, the application hangs at startup when trying to insert an empty collection in the database, causing an SQL error with sqlalchemy.
Linking bug 288887 for reference.
Thanks, in CVS now. I'm sure upstream would appreciate you submitting the patch to them directly!
Created attachment 226317 [details] updated ebuild for 0.15.4 from 2010-02-22 ebuild works for 0.15.4 too. Important for Unicode in Recipe names
Created attachment 226319 [details, diff] patch renamed for current ebuild
I was terribly confused when I saw more activity on this bug, but now I understand what's going on. This has nothing to do with the version bump to 0.15.0 - in the future, please create a new bug when a version bump request is marked "resolved fixed".

To avoid future confusion, I will do that anyway the next time. Should I file a new bug for the current issue or do the changes have a chance of getting into the portage tree?
I'm working on it. I do appreciate the heads-up you gave me; apparently I'm not on the right mailing list.
