There's a new "stable" version 185.18.36 out on the official d/l page. Reproducible: Always
Indeed, and it was released in AUGUST. See official announcement: http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=122606 Could we get this into the tree, please?
Additionally, this would help with bug 279588.
Last weekend, I just added . . . media-video/nvidia-settings/nvidia-settings-185.18.36.ebuild and . . . x11-drivers/nvidia-drivers/nvidia-drivers-185.18.36.ebuild to my local overlay by only copying & renaming the latest ebuild version numbers to *.36.* : VOILA, everything works perfectly fine. They should be added to the portage tree, at least as ~ . $ uname -a Linux mammut 2.6.31-gentoo-r3 #2 SMP Wed Oct 21 14:05:11 CEST 2009 x86_64 AMD Phenom(tm) 9950 Quad-Core Processor AuthenticAMD GNU/Linux Device: GeForce 7600 GT ( ASUS EN7600GT SILENT/2DHT/256M/A )
I have been running 185.18.36 from my local overlay as described above for at least a month with no issues on x86 with the device "nVidia Corporation G72M [Quadro NVS 110M/GeForce Go 7300]" after experiencing bug 279588.
Same story here, I'm currently using local overlay with renamed ebuild file without any problems. Device: NVidia Quadro NVS 135M/PCI/SSE2.
x11-drivers/nvidia-drivers-185.18.36 is in the tree. Thank you for your patience. @peper: Will you do the honours of bumping nvidia-settings?
Thanks, done.
