When executing 'eselect news read new' you always get output, even if there is no news. If there is no news, the program outputs a useless 'No news is good news.' When running the command daily from cron to get all news mailed to you, this is very annoying, as all servers send you a useless mail every day. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Remove eselect-news and upgrade to app-admin/eselect-1.2.3 2. Execute 'eselect news read new' Actual Results: A message is shown telling: No news is good news. Expected Results: Keep silent and don't report anything in case there is nothing. Please provide at least an option to keep the program quiet in case there is nothing to say.
The message is already suppressed with options --raw or --mbox, which are intended for non-interactive usage. But I've also removed it in brief output mode now ("eselect --brief news read"). In SVN r691, and will be in eselect-1.2.5.
Fixed in eselect-1.2.5. Thanks for reporting.
