You shouldn't have app-admin/eselect-news. Try "emerge --depclean app-admin/eselect-news". If it doesn't work. Try "emerge -1 eselect". One of them should remove app-admin/eselect-news.
oh - I see there is the news reading functionality added inside eselect. Unmerging eselect-news isnt a problem So everything works fine now and I suggest to close this bug Thanks
