Description Denilson Sá Maia 2009-10-09 13:32:55 UTC
My system: amd64 (stable)
Current gcc profile: x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-4.1.2
(but it also happens on another system, with x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-4.3.2)
Versions:
 kde-base/kdelibs-3.5.10-r6
 kde-base/kopete-3.5.10-r4
 x11-base/xorg-x11-7.4-r1
 x11-base/xorg-server-1.6.3.901-r2

The bug:
Upon starting kopete with Google Talk configured to auto-connect at startup, I get this:

X Error: BadWindow (invalid Window parameter) 3
  Major opcode: 7
  Minor opcode: 0
  Resource id: 0x2800053
KCrash: Application 'kopete' crashing...
Could not find 'drkonqi' executable.
KCrash cannot reach kdeinit, launching directly.

Steps to reproduce:
1. You may want to start with an empty ~/.kde directory.
2. Start kopete, configure a jabber account to connect with Google Talk:
[X] Use protocol encryption (SSL)
[X] Override default server information
    Server: [talk.google.com]
3. Upon connecting, kopete crashes with the same message as above.

I've already tried to re-emerge both kdelibs and kopete, but no luck. The crash is still here.

Somewhat related bug, but not really the cause: bug 103495

Upstream bug report (not sent by me, but by someone else):
http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=196458

Suggested solutions:
1. Gentoo maintainers could try to fix this by themselves.
2. KDE-4 could be marked as stable as soon as possible.

Possible workaround for now: just tell me what packages I need to add to package.keywords.

KDE 3.5.10 has been masked for removal, this won't be fixed...
