Most users aren't library developers and therefore aren't interested in examples, so why does this package insist on them being installed by default?

In my opinion the examples use flag should not be enabled by default for libraries. If the content is required for the library, or software that uses the library to work properly, then it's not really examples, and the use flag name should be changed.

examples USE enables code that might be needed for upstream bug reports so it's better as a default.
