Richard, Are you still the gentoo.no mirror admin? Can you help here?
Comment 2 Richard Werner 2009-10-07 07:59:34 UTC
Yes, I am one of the admins.

We've lost all configuration due to previous accident with the now old machine. After we lost both password for mirror sync and configs we requested help but we haven't heard anything since mid July. This was done per email (mirro-admins list and individual persons) as we didn't want to have any passwords possibly ending up in public.

Since we hadn't heard back for about 3 months we assumed that Gentoo no longer had any interest in us providing services so because of this we have not actively engaged our selves in the matter.

If you feel you can help out or get the correct resources engaged please do so and we can have our services back up in no time.

Richard

It is important to file bugs. I'm sorry you felt neglected but the mirror-admin team was abit understaffed and I volunteered to help just recently. We do value your time, hardware, and bandwidth donation to Gentoo.

I just resent the masterdistfiles email to you. Your IP is still in the ACL for rsync1.us.gentoo.org so you should still have access to that for gentoo-portage.

Please continue communication on this bug and we will get you set.

I'm still looking at ~18 days out of date, currently.

Sorry, Had a little typo in the crontab for this particular sync.
Should be working now again. Please check in the next following days again.

Oh, and please remove us from the portage rsync list as we will not be providing this service at the moment. If we will in the future we will file a new request.

We will continue to mirror the distfiles and install files as usual.

Thanks.

I removed your gentoo-portage mirror from ACLs and DNS. Thanks for your donations in the past.

I see that your distfile mirror is catching up. We will close this bug soon if it looks good.

Looks good. Thanks.
