In the file distributed by Gentoo the bold and the bold-italic typeface of SIL Gentium are missing. This typefaces are included in the .zip file provided by SIL. Reproducible: Always
We use the tarball provided by upstream. Where do you see bold or bold/italic available?
I didn't look good enough, it's not the "main Gentium" font, which has bold and bold italic typefaces but the "Gentium basic fonts" http://scripts.sil.org/cms/scripts/page.php?site_id=nrsi&item_id=Gentium_basic But I think it's will be good to include them also maybe with a useflag? The Gentium Basic family is based upon the Gentium Main font.
Ah, not version bump. This is development and still unfinished version: "The full Gentium fonts currently include only regular and italic faces, but two new font families - Gentium Basic and Gentium Book Basic - give a preview of what a whole range of new weights will eventually look like. The 'Basic' fonts only support a limited Latin character set (no Greek or Cyrillic)." So let's give upstream some chance to release finished product first and then add it to the tree.
