Description Paul Moore 2003-09-15 06:44:09 UTC
sockpuppet root # emerge -up world

These are the packages that I would merge, in order:

Calculating world dependencies /
!!! all ebuilds that could satisfy ">=media-libs/gst-plugins-0.6.3" have been
masked.
!!! (dependency required by "gnome-base/gnome-2.4" [ebuild])

!!! Problem with ebuild gnome-base/gnome-2.4
!!! Possibly a DEPEND/*DEPEND problem.

!!! Depgraph creation failed.
sockpuppet root #

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge -up world
2.
3.

Actual Results:
see the 'screenshot' above

Expected Results:
display the results

don't quite know what's going on here. in portage we have gnome-2.4 marked ~x86, and gst-plugins also marked ~x86, with neither in package.mask. could you sync and try again ?
Comment 2 Paul Moore 2003-09-15 08:05:50 UTC
I received this error after sync'ing not less than four hours ago.

NOTE: I am running Gentoo on Alpha, not x86.
Comment 3 Alastair Tse (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-09-15 08:13:03 UTC
can the alpha guys have a look at marking the gst-plugins and making sure all the gnome-2.4 deps are ~alpha ready ?
