The sparc64 boot fails to mount the file image.squashfs on /newroot/mnt/livecd and drops into the shell. If I try to mount the file manually using: mount /newroot/mnt/cdrom/image.squashfs /newroot/mnt/livecd -o loop I get the messages mount: /dev/loop0 is write protected, mounting read-only (repeated 7 times) mount: mounting /dev/loop0 on /newroot/mnt/livecd/ failed: Invalid argument This is similar to the bug on the ppc32 liveCD here: http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=275271 I'm using a Sun Ultra II workstation.
I just upgraded squashfs-tools to 4.0 on bender. This will be fixed in next week's autobuild.
