There's a typo in the RDEPEND for net-misc/neatx-0.3.1_p43-r1 where net-analyze/gnu-netcat should instead be net-analyzer/gnu-netcat, it's missing an "r".
Moreover, if I remove gnu-netcat but I keep netcat, neatx doesn't work.

You'll either have to re-emerge neatx or change the netcat-path variable in /etc/neatx.conf from /usr/bin/netcat to /usr/bin/nc since the ebuild sets that variable to different values depending on what netcat is installed when the package is emerged.
