Description Gerard Neil 2009-09-29 03:59:02 UTC
See the URL. This bit me, changes have already been applied to mainline kernel tree as of 2.6.30.6 (see http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/linux-2.6.30.y.git;a=shortlog;h=a1c4c06a2e4d6f5fa7ce200d8df6dc0c0d89ae00;pg=1) and look for IPI (2009-09-09)

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Machine locks up after 30 minutes - 1 hour, no trace, no log

Stablize gentoo-sources-2.6.30-r7 ASAP and mask -r6? I don't know how you guys handle this sort of thing. Anyway -r6 is definitely broken for me.

Closing as this is fixed in released gentoo-sources

Perhaps, but not to current _stable_ -r6 version.... I have another machine running 2.6.30-r6, and the relevant patch http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/linux-2.6.30.y.git;a=commitdiff;h=5d884ca27c645691b20817c09a0e810f81975655#patch1 has definitely not been applied.

As long as no unaffected version is stable, you risk breaking more stable systems.

If you want a packaged stabled, please file a stable request bug.

You can use #279685 as an example.
