grsync has nothing to do with gnome, please don't touch "assign field" when you don't know the maintainer of a specific package.

(feel free to the maintainer to re-add us in CC, if he has a question about gtk+ for example)

I'm also having this exact same problem, which is identical on both my machines at home (an amd64 workstation and i686 server) as well as my machine at work (x86). I did notice many .la files broken in a bunch of packages related to GTK, so I first tried running lafilefixer --justfixit, then when that had no effect I just re-emerged all of them I found. Still no effect. So with the weekend starting, I set my machine at work to emerge -ev grsync to install any possible related program that might be having issues, but again it had no effect. I've changed nothing on any of these three machines, other than performing standard updates. I've also re-emerged all related gconf programs, which I don't know if this is a related issue, but get the following output when installing grsync.

* No GNOME 2 GConf schemas found
 * Updating desktop mime database ...
 * Updating shared mime info database ...

I'm running out of things to check or finding a cause to this, which grsync makes life so much more simple for keeping various project files updated from my local copy. Almost all errors end up being something stupid, which I have little doubt this is too, but I can't see the forest through the trees or am just to narrowed in on this to see a solution.

Before the release of a new package, there is a simple solution :

a bug-entry for debian suggests that this is fixed by either upgrading to grsync 0.9.2 including the new glade file: http://groups.google.com/group/linux.debian.bugs.dist/browse_thread/thread/117287af420ebbf1

bumping the ebuild to 0.9.2 and compiling it fixed it for me

thanks for the info - 0.9.2 is in CVS.
