running gnome 2.4 in the nautilus help topic 1.10. Running Scripts From the File Manager it says there is a submenu scrips etc (like there was in 2.2), but in 2.4 i cannot find the scripts submenu I suppose the help should in some way be updated (probably a gnome bug) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. right click somewhere in nautilus and watch the menu (no scripts) 2. press F1 to bring up the help system and click on the item Running Scripts From the File Manager 3. verify that it says there should be a scripts folder Actual Results: the help was inconsistent with the behaviour Expected Results: the help should've been consistent with the behaviour
i have these menu items (?)
and you are running gnome 2.4 also? i have been running some of the beta's and RC's from breakmygentoo, and i haven't seen those script menu-entries in a while. That's why i was looking in the help, to find the alternative way to do it in the new version if the menu-items are supposed to be there i am stunned
Created attachment 17686 [details] Screenshot of menu-items this is just a screenshot of my menu where you can clearly see there is no scripts entry
I run this whole other version of nautilus, straight from the shores of CVS hell. Patched up to the max. Serious, ofcourse i use the same version. Didn't we tell you that using any BMG builds voids your warranty ? No ? It does, i'm serious. But because i'm nice here's something i found out. The scripts items only show when there are scripts around already in ~/.gnome2/nautilus-scripts/ . I believe this is a feature, not a bug. The manual could be updated though, but it would be better to file an upstream bug about that. PS. I believe you on your word, i don't need to see altered screenshots.
