Description Mystilleef 2003-09-13 14:00:40 UTC
For reasons beyond my understanding Koffice-1.2.1-r1 fails to compile successfully. I suspect it
is most likely a problem with GCC-3.3.1, but I am most likely wrong.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge sync
2. emerge -pv koffice
3. emerge koffice
Actual Results:
The result will be attached to this report.

Expected Results:
I expected koffice to compile and install successfully.

Portage 2.0.49-r3 (default-x86-1.4, gcc-3.3.1, glibc-2.3.2-r1, 2.4.22)

What's up to this bug? Is it a GCC-3.3.1 related bug or not? Any workarounds?
I also have the same problem with GCC-3.3.1 and originally I decided to delay emerge -uD world until this is fixed, but it's 10 days now without any reply...
Comment 5 Hanno Böck gentoo-dev 2003-09-24 00:57:44 UTC
It is a gcc 3.3-problem.
As a workaround, use the 1.3beta-version, it has a patch for the problem.
Comment 6 Bernd Wurst 2003-09-24 01:36:25 UTC
New issue: If you could get the koffice-i18n-de-1.3_beta3.ebuild into portage tree, one can upgrade to 1.3_beta3. My problem was that the language package always wants to downgrade to 1.2.1 as described in bug #28227. Even if it's only beta, it would be nice if the language package would be there.
The i18n-package has been submitted as an attachment into bug #28227 and can be copied to any language.
Comment 7 Mystilleef 2003-09-24 08:05:00 UTC
I think koffice's package maintaner is on strike. Or someone really pissed him off. :-)
Comment 8 Caleb Tennis (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-10-23 10:27:01 UTC
The i18n build for koffice 1.3_beta4 is in portage, so I'm going to close
this bug. Email me if you have questions on how to use it.
