Description rhywek 2009-09-22 14:10:55 UTC
I use Gnome, but I don't have esd installed. While performing regular update, epiphany-2.26.3-r1 failed. I've noticed that it printed the following:

/bin/grep: /usr/lib/libesd.la: No such file or directory
/bin/sed: can't read /usr/lib/libesd.la: No such file or directory
libtool: link: `/usr/lib/libesd.la' is not a valid libtool archive

I guess it needs esd to compile. That's a bit strange. I think this package should work well without esd. But for people who use esd, it could support it via esd use flag.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Make sure you don't have esd on your system.
2. emerge -1 '=www-client/epiphany-2.26.3-r1'

Actual Results:
Compilation fails.

Expected Results:
www-client/epiphany-2.26.3-r1 is installed.

Please use revdep-rebuild (app-portage/gentoolkit) to fix whatever packages were broken when you dropped the esd USE flag from your system.

Thanks
