iwl5000-ucode-8.24.2.12 which contains API v2 firmware (recommended for current stable 2.6.30 kernels) is not stable. I request to move it to stable branch. There are no opened bugs in the tree for the package.

Here is what I have in dmesg with old firmware:

Me too. I'm having problems with the old firmware 5.4.0.11 and the stable 2.6.30 kernel. I was forced to use the new masked firmware 8.24.2.12.
This bug holds for everyone who has a new notebook with a 5xxx intel card

+  Marked stable on AMD64 as requested by Ihar Hrachyshka in bug #285577.
+  Tested on a Fujitsu-Siemens Lifebook S6420 with a 5300AGN [Shiloh] adapter
+  on a WPA2 PSK network.

X86 please test & mark stable.
