It has just been released, I should do the version bump. This bug is a reminder.
3.2.1 now - voting for this bug.
I will try to do the version bump this week-end. Do not hesitate to ping me in this bug if you see no news next week ;)
Here is a brief reminder for version bump. Linphone-3.2.1 isn't in portage yet. I have been unable so far to make a working ebuild -- it needs some work with external mediastreamer patch.
What is the status on this? I'd also like to have 3.2.1 in portage if possible.
Ok I was going to bump linphone but looks like it's takes a bit more time. First of all linphone 3.2.1 is bundled with mediastreamer-2.3.1 which is not available atm. I've contacted upstream so probably they'll release mediastreamer-2.3.1: http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/linphone-developers/2010-02/msg00025.html Well, but for testing purposes I've took mediastreamer-2.3.1 which is bundled with linphone build everything but... got very well reproducible crash. Also mailed upstream mailing list on this issue: http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/linphone-users/2010-02/msg00034.html So, now I'm looking on how to resolve this issues and probably after first one will be resolved I'll bump this package to the tree hardmasked. That said, some linphone dependencies were already updated in the tree.
Upstream is used to this (releasing linphone with bundled dep newer than released ones). What I've done before was to generate a patch between the two versions, put it in gentoo mirrors and write an ebuild. Actually, it was even worst because the changes were changing API's. In your case, maybe you can keep 3.2.0 ? For the bug, it looks like it has been fixed. Great :) Thank you for working on this Peter.
Ok, the only issue I currently have with linphone is that I still didn't managed to call 500@ekiga.net address. I guess this is somehow related to NAT I have here and since linphone works nice with another sip provider (sipnet.ru, I did lot's of calls today), I think it's pretty safe to bump it... New version is in the tree. As for mediastreamer upstream told that version was bump with no real gain, it's pretty safe to use 2.3.0.
