I juste upgraded to pulseaudio-0.9.15-r2, and I discovered that it's lacking /etc/init.d/pulseaudio, which make pulseaudio not be launched at boot time (I KNOW it's a bad thing running PA system-wide :) ) I see nothing in the changelog that announce that. Bug or feature ? Reproducible: Always Expected Results: /etc/init.d/pulseaudio is present
I'm not completely sure, but probably a feature - IIRC, those init.d scripts, that are still in the tree require baselayout 2, so they can't go stable yet.
Feature; if you want the init script you need openrc/baselayout2 which is not stable. And the feature is deprecated.

Hi Diego! Do you mean we shouldn't use pulseaudio as a system-wide server? What's the reason?
Read the warnings in 0.9.17 ebuild or on PulseAudio's wiki. More about it http://blog.flameeyes.eu/2009/06/22/planning-for-pulseaudio
