In a production server, where I use mutt to attach reports generated by cron, since upgrade to 1.5.20-r4 I'm unable to send attachments. The script that automates mail attachments uses the following syntax: cribrum tmp # mutt -x -a file_to_attach -s "prova" f.talamona@secompower.it f.talamona@secompower.it: unable to attach file. The version 1.5.20-r5 gives the same behaviour. I don't know if my issue is the same as in bug 284542 ------------------------------------------------------- Mutt 1.5.16 (2007-06-09) Copyright (C) 1996-2007 Michael R. Elkins and others. Hi Talamona, I think upstream changed some syntax wrt attached files. From the manpage: -a file [...] Attach a file to your message using MIME. When attaching single or multiple files, separating filenames and recipient addresses with "--" is mandatory, e.g. mutt -a image.jpg -- addr1 or mutt -a img.jpg *.png -- addr1 addr2. The -a option must be placed at the end of command line options. Seems that you have to slightly change your command. Can you check if this is the issue? Thanks
Yes, that's it. I should be less in hurry (and less worried!). A simple edit to the script solved my problem, definitely not a mutt bug. Many many thanks for your hint.
