Initially, savage2-bin failed with: ./savage2.bin: error while loading shared libraries: libjpeg.so.62: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory Fixed by installing media-libs/jpeg-compat-6b, maybe this should be added to dependencies. It is needed only for those who have upgraded jpeg to version 7 (i.e. unstable arches ~x86, ~amd64)
+ 13 Sep 2009; Samuli Suominen <ssuominen@gentoo.org> + savage-bin-2.00e.ebuild: + Use jpeg-compat wrt #284754, thanks to Jouni Rinne for reporting.

(Of course I SHOULD have specified the version number in the original bugreport :( ). Savage2-bin is the one needing jpeg-compat-6b, not savage-bin

Well, it turned out that also games-strategy/savage-bin needed jpeg-compat (NEEDED libjpeg.so.62 entry in silverback.bin). So, no harm done...
should be fixed in savage2-bin-2.1.0.1
