On windows I can select only to install calc and writer. There should be a way not to clutter up my system with components which are not used - like e.g. oobase and ooimpress! Being able to do it is a major feature, so I'd appreciate to keep the severity on that level. Reproducible: Always Expected Results: something like: USE="calc writer -base -impress" emerge -v openoffice
This sounds hard... Patches accepted, I'm sure... (Openoffice has a build system that barely qualifies for the name)
this really is neither as easy nor as useful as it might sound, 90+ percent of OOo are shared code, so there is no big win by removing components. Also it is faaaaar from trivial. So if someone wants to have it: Patches accepted. Reopen if you have something working.
