Hey, Kuickshow is no longer part of KDE, but I'd much prefer it over Gwenview. It's now distributed as part of KDE-extragear (and yes, has KDE4-specific version). Could this be included in portage?
Created attachment 203713 [details] Ebuild for kuickshow Needs some dev love. Currently dies with "wrong linguas dir specified" Not sure why, as the eclass seems to wanna enter ${S}/po and that exists as far as I can tell.
Created attachment 203714 [details] New try Disregard first ebuild. Had lots of crap from another ebuild that I stole.
Created attachment 203715 [details] Homepage url more up to date. Thanks krytzz
Created attachment 203727 [details] Ebuild for There was an extra space in the use flags, and RDEPEND wasn't set to DEPEND. Updated again.
Thanks for getting this underway.
So after working to much for the past month I went back to finally put this into kde-testing, and noticed it was already fixed by scarabeus. I've emerged it successfully and browsed around among pictures. Does it's job well. $ emerge --info Portage 2.1.6.13 (default/linux/x86/2008.0/desktop, gcc-4.4.1-asneeded, glibc-2.10.1-r0, 2.6.30-gentoo-r6 i686) ================================================================= System uname: Linux-2.6.30-gentoo-r6-i686-Intel-R-_Core-TM-2_Duo_CPU_E8400_@_3.00GHz-with-gentoo-2.0.1 Timestamp of tree: Thu, 08 Oct 2009 20:15:01 +0000 app-shells/bash: 4.0_p28 dev-java/java-config: 2.1.8-r1 dev-lang/python: 2.6.3, 3.1.1-r1 dev-util/cmake: 2.6.4 sys-apps/baselayout: 2.0.1 sys-apps/openrc: 0.4.3-r4 sys-apps/sandbox: 1.6-r2 sys-devel/autoconf: 2.13, 2.63-r1 sys-devel/automake: 1.7.9-r1, 1.8.5-r3, 1.9.6-r2, 1.10.2 sys-devel/binutils: 2.18-r3 sys-devel/gcc-config: 1.4.1 sys-devel/libtool: 2.2.6a virtual/os-headers: 2.6.27-r2 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86" CBUILD="i686-pc-linux-gnu" CFLAGS="-march=native -O2 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer" CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /usr/kde/3.5/env /usr/kde/3.5/share/config /usr/kde/3.5/shutdown /usr/share/config" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/ca-certificates.conf /etc/env.d /etc/env.d/java/ /etc/fonts/fonts.conf /etc/gconf /etc/gentoo-release /etc/php/apache2-php5/ext-active/ /etc/php/cgi-php5/ext-active/ /etc/php/cli-php5/ext-active/ /etc/revdep-rebuild /etc/sandbox.d /etc/terminfo /etc/udev/rules.d" CXXFLAGS="-march=native -O2 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="distlocks fixpackages parallel-fetch protect-owned sandbox sfperms strict unmerge-orphans userfetch" GENTOO_MIRRORS="http://mirror.mdfnet.se/mirror/gentoo ftp://mirror.mdfnet.se/gentoo http://ftp.ing.umu.se/linux/gentoo/ ftp://ftp.ing.umu.se/linux/gentoo/" LDFLAGS="-Wl,--as-needed" LINGUAS="se" MAKEOPTS="-j3" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_CONFIGROOT="/" PORTAGE_RSYNC_OPTS="--recursive --links --safe-links --perms --times --compress --force --whole-file --delete --stats --timeout=180 --exclude=/distfiles --exclude=/local --exclude=/packages" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" PORTDIR_OVERLAY="/usr/local/portage/layman/kde-testing /usr/local/portage/letharion" SYNC="rsync://rsync.europe.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage" USE="3dnow X a52 aac acl acpi alsa apm bash-completion branding bzip2 cairo cdr cli consolekit cracklib crypt dbus dri dts dvd dvdr eds emboss encode esd evo fam firefox flac fortran gdbm gif gpm gstreamer hal iconv isdnlog jpeg kde kdeenablefinal kdehiddenvisibility ldap libnotify mad mikmod mmx modules mp3 mp4 mpeg mudflap ncurses nptl nptlonly nsplugin ogg opengl openmp pam pcre pdf perl phonon png ppds pppd python qt3 qt3support qt4 quicktime readline reflection sdl semantic-desktop session spell spl sse sse2 ssl startup-notification svg symlink sysfs tcpd thunar tiff truetype unicode usb vdpau vorbis win32codecs x264 x86 xinerama xml xorg xulrunner xv xvid zlib" ALSA_CARDS="ali5451 als4000 atiixp atiixp-modem bt87x ca0106 cmipci emu10k1 emu10k1x ens1370 ens1371 es1938 es1968 fm801 hda-intel intel8x0 intel8x0m maestro3 trident usb-audio via82xx via82xx-modem ymfpci" ALSA_PCM_PLUGINS="adpcm alaw asym copy dmix dshare dsnoop empty extplug file hooks iec958 ioplug ladspa lfloat linear meter mmap_emul mulaw multi null plug rate route share shm softvol" APACHE2_MODULES="actions alias auth_basic authn_alias authn_anon authn_dbm authn_default authn_file authz_dbm authz_default authz_groupfile authz_host authz_owner authz_user autoindex cache dav dav_fs dav_lock deflate dir disk_cache env expires ext_filter file_cache filter headers include info log_config logio mem_cache mime mime_magic negotiation rewrite setenvif speling status unique_id userdir usertrack vhost_alias" ELIBC="glibc" INPUT_DEVICES="keyboard mouse evdev" KERNEL="linux" LCD_DEVICES="bayrad cfontz cfontz633 glk hd44780 lb216 lcdm001 mtxorb ncurses text" LINGUAS="se" USERLAND="GNU" VIDEO_CARDS="vesa nvidia" Unset: CPPFLAGS, CTARGET, EMERGE_DEFAULT_OPTS, FFLAGS, INSTALL_MASK, LANG, LC_ALL, PORTAGE_COMPRESS, PORTAGE_COMPRESS_FLAGS, PORTAGE_RSYNC_EXTRA_OPTS

Lots of problems with this ebuild: First got "Unsupported 0.9.1" -- from inheritted kde4-base. Changed version to 4.3.1 and hit the next error: The linguas bug posted above -- just to see if it would build removed LINGUAS from ebuild. Now hitting: "wrong doc dir specified" -- giving up for now.
(In reply to comment #8) > Lots of problems with this ebuild Did you try the version from the kde-testing overlay?
Unless I'm really missing something it's not in kde-testing (or sunrise). # layman -l * kde-testing [Git ] (git://git.o.g.o/proj/kde.git ) # emerge -pv kuickshow These are the packages that would be merged, in order: Calculating dependencies ... done! [ebuild R ] kde-base/kuickshow-3.5.10 USE="-debug" 0 kB Total: 1 package (1 reinstall), Size of downloads: 0 kB Browsing the overlay it's not in kde-base or kde-misc.
Just installed it from kde-testing. emerge -C kuickshow eix-sync (including overlay) emerge -va media-gfx/kuickshow Thanks!
added latest version to tree :) note that I added _p20091105 for easier version bumping since for now upstream keeps the same main version between KDE releases.
Many thanks, guys.
