hello, I've installed gentoo from the latest net (install-amd64-minimal-20090903.iso) no media folder is created, when I plug a usb stick and trying to mount it, I get a error (which is attached) using kde 4.3.1 Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:
Created attachment 203379 [details] the error notice the bottom part
You need to clarify a few things. Does /media dir exist ? Are there any processes running that do keep the lock on .hal-mtab ? What's the content of that file ?
(In reply to comment #2) > You need to clarify a few things. > Does /media dir exist ? nope, like I've said, the latest stage3 wont create a media folder (I know I can create it... that's not the point) > Are there any processes running that do keep the lock on > .hal-mtab ? > What's the content of that file ? > the file doesn't exists, I think that the error is because hal is trying to create the file in a non existent folder
What happens after you manually create /media, does it work ok? If so, then all we need to do is figure out which package should be responsible for creating /media...
sys-apps/hal created /media on my stable system...
closed, latest hal solves it
