I haven't found a good/simple avenue to report this upstream, so here I am. FvwmIconMan using weighted sorting doesn't sort according to the weights given. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install/configure x11-wm/fvwm-2.5.27 and the FvwmIconMan module 2. setup weighted sorting in IconMan 3. restart your fvwm session 4. see sorting not work Expected Results: Correct order of applications on iconman pertinent Iconman config: *FvwmIconMan: Sort weighted *FvwmIconMan: SortWeight 5 class=Firefox *FvwmIconMan: SortWeight 15 class=gvim *FvwmIconMan: SortWeight 15 name=jEdit* *FvwmIconMan: SortWeight 20 class=Terminal *FvwmIconMan: SortWeight 30 class=pidgin *FvwmIconMan: SortWeight 40 Actual results in IconMan: Firefox / gcalc / gvim / pidgin / gftp / jEdit / Thunar / Terminal Expected results: Firefox / gvim / jEdit / Terminal / pidgin / (gftp / Thunar / gcalc) the items in () all have the same weight (40 per the config) so I don't know the expected result.

Please update this report with the upstream reference. We can apply an accepted patch to Gentoo, if one is generated. Thanks.

Thanks. > I am always vigilant in the fvwm lists, this hasn't been reported. So I will do my checks and if I can understand and reproduce the bug I will report it myself. Don't worry, I'll keep you informed of anything.
Don't know how to produce an "upstream reference" but at the least I'm back from vacation and have submitted the report to the aforementioned mail list.

There's a patch that probably will get into the cvs but no feedback has been given about it, and anyway it wasn't meant to fix this concrete issue, but rather a corner case. It seems that the issue at hand was about the user not giving the correct class to match (a case sensitivity issue).
