Description Sergey S. Starikoff 2009-09-02 12:05:41 UTC
The main window of the player don't display non-anscii symbols from tags.
The play-list editor dispay them normally (not always, because the bug http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=282637 ), DE --- also OK.

Seen for all tested formats (ogg, flac, mp3) both in 1.5.1-r1 and 2.1.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Run audacious (1.5.1-r1 or 2.1);
2. Open a file with written tags (for example title). Best if in title presents both Russian (in my case) symbols and anscii;

Actual Results:
See the oryginal (displayed in playlist editor and by DE taskbar) symbols.

Expected Results:
See the blank space instead of Russian symbols from tags (usually song-title).

This is probably one of these two:
- audacious has chardet useflag - try it first
- audacious with default settings uses bitmap fonts
  - try turning that off, so it uses truetype

Neither of those is a bug.

Excuse me, I was mistaken.

The problem was in attemp of usage bitmap fonts. Switching to truetype fixed the issue.

BTW, for proper display of nls-symbols 'chardet' USE should be turned on.
