Frankly, I would recommend holding off on giving tribunal developer access
until he learns how to deal with other people in a mature and civilized fashion.

Messaging me with a lot of angry comments because I removed his voice after
he made a lot of people in #-dev angry with arrogant, elitist comments and
various irrational actions on multiple occassions doesn't indicate the kind
of behavior I think we should be able to expect from developers. It's especially
disheartening that he justified it by implying that because he did a bunch
of kernel work he's entitled to be a jerk.

the boy's talented, there's no doubt, but he also seems to lack the skills
required in interacting with gentoo developers. This is, to me as well,
a cause of some serious concern.
Comment 4 Brandon Hale (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-09-29 16:49:03 UTC
I strongly agree with both of you, iggy and I discussed this shortly after
the problems on #-dev and have already come to the agreement to delay developer
status depending on how he interacts with other developers in the future.
I am told he was very stressed at the time, but neither this or his kernel
work justify the repeated outbursts. I nominated him purely on his technical
abilities in the specific Gentoo pressure point of x86-kernel, but I admittedly
did not expect such immature behavior. Let's see what happens from here...
Comment 5 Brandon Hale (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-09-30 16:35:35 UTC
Due to his proven inability to work with other developers in a productive
manner on several ocassions, I have decided that tribunal does not exemplify
the attitude and character of a Gentoo Linux developer. I am closing this
bug and ending his mentorship.
