I have been trying to get g-cpan to install modules but it will not do so.

Modules are being build in ~/.cpan but never get installed into a perl path.

It will not even update CPAN.pm

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. g-cpan -i Module::Name
2.
3.

Are you running g-cpan as root? If so, ~/.cpan will only be used if /path/to/perl/CPAN/Config.pm does not exist - at least that's what the g-cpan man page says...

I too am seeing the failure to actually install the module files. It creates the ebuild (oddly, it creates it inside of an existing overlay), runs the build and says it has installed the files, but nothing actually gets installed.
