fvwm-crystal uses xwd to create thumbnails of windows, but doesn't install it. The thumbnail function just silently fails if is not installed. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. ebuild fvwm-crystal 2. setup .xinitrc or .xsession to point to fvwm-crystal 3. startup your favorite application 4. iconify the application by right clicking on the X Actual Results: An icon is created, but it doesn't include a screenshot as part of the icon unless both xwd and imagemagick with USE="png" are both set. When they are, the manager immediately begins working properly without a restart even. Expected Results: A simple icon for the window is created.
Yep, imagemagick[png] and xwd should be added. If we want to make it conditional we could group these two under a "thumbnail" use flag. Also, I am not 100% sure, but I think that imagemagick is only used for this, so if we make it conditional we should as well take the already existing dep on imagemagic out of the non-conditional part of the DEPEND tree.
In portage, thanks for the heads up!
