During boot of gentoo-basic-1.4-20030806.iso on Model Acer Aspire 1304LC, I see an unexpected first log message PCI cannot allocate ressource region 0 of device 00:0a.a The resulting system hang on as soon as I made any kind of network access. Especially when i request the network card status with ifconfig. I resolve the problem by : - booting with : gentoo nohotplug - loading manually my NIC adapater : modprobe via-rhine I suppose both problem were related. At least they appear on a specific laptop system. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Use a Acer / Aspire 1304LC 2.boot with gentoo or acpi without nohotplug 3.no specific modprobe applied Actual Results: First on screen log line : PCI cannot allocate ressource region 0 of device 00:0a.a Expected Results: - no message - via-rhine network card not discovered I found no information about log location with Basic boot CD I m not yet fluent enough to regenerate a Basic but I m interested in testing the resolution of this problem. I haven't test the LiveCD.
Should be fixed on the newer livecds, please reopen if it isnt.
