Description Gustavo Felisberto (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-09-08 08:33:08 UTC
New ebuild for ettercap 0.6.b (0.6.11 in portage) with gtk2 enabled, and a
warning in case people do not want support.
I have been using this for some time now with no problems.

Something weired is happening and i cannot send files to bugzilla (i always get a login/password prompt). So i leave a link to the ebuild:

is the gtk frontend stable now? the last time i tried it was in 0.6.a and it was very unstable.

btw, could you try attaching the ebuild again? that link is not responding ..

I have been trying the gtk2 interface and it seems ok.
I managed to post the file today. You were unable to grab it because my cable operator was down for 26 hours.....

sorry this has been sitting here for so long. i haven't been able to use the gtk interface properly at all. everytime it just dies with:

mcvaio root # ettercap -G
The program 'ettercap' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadIDChoice (invalid resource ID chosen for this connection)'.
  (Details: serial 8347 error_code 14 request_code 53 minor_code 0)
  (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

this is after the window finishes sending the ARP requests pops up.

the gtk2 interface isn't stable enough to be enabled as an option, maybe in the future versions we can enable it, but not now.
