When running with kernel modesetting, the resolution of the
console is set to 1024x768 although the native resolution is
1280x800 but the X server works correctly at 1280x800.

dmesg reports:

The patch is in 2.6.30.5 which has been incorporated into genpatches. Will be resolved in the next gentoo-sources release.
