Description PM 2009-08-15 10:45:53 UTC
Yesterday I bought and installed a new SATA LG DVD-RW drive to replace my old ATA drive (also an LG one). Since then I can't mount UDF DVDs. System logs say:

Aug 15 12:12:54 localhost [ 99.563582] UDF-fs: No anchor found
Aug 15 12:12:54 localhost [ 99.563587] UDF-fs: No partition found (1)

On SUSE forums I found thread on this problem, apparently the solution is lastblock=1 mount option.

Reproducible: Always

I just checked that this bug is not present in gentoo-sources-2.6.29-r6

i am experiencing the same issue with LG IDE drive: ata5.00: ATAPI: HL-DT-STDVD-RAM GH22NP20, 1.04, max UDMA/66

kernel is tuxonice-sources-2.6.30-r4.
Comment 3 PM 2009-09-07 11:20:04 UTC
Looks like it will be fixed in the next kernel: http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=14088 , however it looks to me as if there is some more general bug in the kernel with handling these drives. Did you try to burn a double layer DVD with this drive? I noticed I'm also getting I/O errors ( http://pastebin.com/f56b96d6c ) when trying to do so, I think it might be related.

Also, should I set the resolution to UPSTREAM or something?

It's fixed in 2.6.31.
