Thank the gods for cut and paste. This hairy beast works on my system, at least; I grabbed the perl stuff from irssi [since they /are/ the same program, at least GUI-wise], and I added a perl? line in the depend list. I also went from the .tar.gz to the .tar.bz2 because it's smaller. Feel free to hack this file to bits, but it seems to work. :)
Created attachment 1041 [details] silc-client 0.9 ebuild The actual ebuild. I don't think net-im is a good place for SILC, because it's no more an IM client than IRC is, but I suppose that until there's more than one SILC client in the portage tree it's as good a place as any. Eventually net-silc would be a wise place to put it, methinks.
Just so you know, I had someone on #gentoo give the ebuild a whirl, and it worked fine.
Created attachment 1045 [details] The silc ebuild again, in text format This is in plain/text so you don't have to do rename mungery.
Please change this file's name to silc-0.9.1.ebuild . . . a new version came out that fixes a nasty crash bug. The only updating needed is the 0.9.0 -> 0.9.1 name change, though.
