Starting with version 4.* of kde kate's embedded terminal is unable to change to the viewed file's ddirectory if the directory resides on another host and is accessed using the sftp protocol. As far as I remember kate-3.*'s terminal didn't have such problems. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. emerge kate 2. open up kate and open a remote hosted file through sftp and a locally hosted file 3. open the ebedded terminal 4. toggle between the two opened files using the file browser on the left and watch embedded terminal's messages Actual Results: The terminal can't change the directory to the remote host and an error message is displayed: ~ $ ### Sorry, can not cd into ... Expected Results: Change to the remote hosted directory containing the file using (at least) the sftp protocol to access it. For better performance I use ssh keys to access the remote machine. The files can be opened by the editor and can be saved successfully.
