Just to let someone know, net-misc/cgterm-1.6 builds correctly on amd64. It is currently marked only as having KEYWORDS="x86 ~ppc". As far as I can tell, it also runs as advertised by the upstream author. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. echo "net-misc/cgterm x86" >> /etc/portage/package.keywords 2. emerge -av cgterm 3. cgterm Actual Results: It works! amd64 guys, please do your magic Thanks.
# emerge -1av =net-misc/cgterm-1.6 These are the packages that would be merged, in order: Calculating dependencies... done! !!! All ebuilds that could satisfy "=net-misc/cgterm-1.6" have been masked. !!! One of the following masked packages is required to complete your request: - net-misc/cgterm-1.6 (masked by: package.mask) /usr/portage/profiles/package.mask: # Samuli Suominen <ssuominen@gentoo.org> (08 Aug 2009) # Masked by treecleaners for removal. Doesn't compile wrt #239776.
(In reply to comment #2) > # emerge -1av =net-misc/cgterm-1.6 > > # Masked by treecleaners for removal. Doesn't compile wrt #239776. I'm aware of the bug and read the details before attempting to build the package myself. I opened this bug because the ebuild works for me on an architecture that wasn't marked as supported (only x86 ~ppc were), and so the ebuild needs adjusting. Bug 239776 seems to be a bug with parallel building of the package. Further investigation suggests a trivial fix to the problem in the comments which would work, and after 5 months of no activity, it was suggested that the package be simply removed instead. I did not change the ebuild at all to make it work. It just worked, after accepting the x86 keyword for this package in my /etc/portage/package.keywords. I don't think the problem in 239776 effects me because I was using -j2 rather than -j4. It would only effect people with high parallel processing power and at least -j3.
ok, All bugs have been fixed, and is unmasked now . Please proceed amd64 guys.
