Description Mike Nigh 2009-08-10 03:13:12 UTC
I was trying to emerge media-libs/libcanberra-0.14 and it gave an aclocal error. I looked online to see there was a problem with this but I didn't fall under those conditions so I upgraded automake and it solved the libcanberra problem. This is on an amd64 arch.
Comment 1 James Earl Spahlinger 2009-08-10 03:27:36 UTC
Please paste the output of 'emerge --info' into a bugzilla comment to assist the maintainers in resolving this issue

Additionally please supply output that emerge prints when the package fails to build/configure/whatever if you could please.
Comment 2 Gilles Dartiguelongue (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-08-18 06:20:49 UTC
emerge --info, build.log, ... please.
Comment 3 Mike Nigh 2009-08-19 03:02:29 UTC
i'm sorry that machine was destroyed by a bad binutils update

Please do what portage says.

emerge -1 autoconf
solved problem, but it will be better to include this dependency to ebuild.
Comment 8 Gilles Dartiguelongue (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-08-24 16:42:14 UTC
there is no reason to not have latest stable autoconf installed.
