I try to build task juggler 2.4.1 from portage and it fails in configure process with the error: configure: error: KDEPIM header files no found. Please make sure you have KDEPIM and the corresponding development packages installed! I can build it if I take the source from the official site (but the 2.4.3 version, I didn't try with 2.4.1 version) and use the following command to the configure step: ./configure --prefix=/usr/kde/3.5/ --without-arts So, I think that the problem is caused because it isn't looking at right KDE 3.5 installation directory. I don't have ideas if it is affecting others applications that uses KDE 3.5 libraries. By the way, I'm not using kdeprefix use flag. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Keyword taskjuggler and its dependencies 2. emerge taskjuggler Actual Results: Configure step fails with the message: configure: error: KDEPIM header files no found. Please make sure you have KDEPIM and the corresponding development packages installed! Expected Results: Task juggler should be installed without any errors. There is another issue regarding task juggler ebuild: the package dev-perl/Carp-Clan-5.9 wasn't present in Gentoo mirrors. So, I "keyworded" the version 6.00 to install task juggler. Is it necessary to fill another bug with this issue? Do you have KDE4 installed? I had the same problem on my KDE4 machine. Two possible workarounds: #1: Do "CPPFLAGS='-I/usr/kde/3.5/include' CFLAGS='-I/usr/kde/3.5/include' emerge taskjuggler" to manually force the compiler to look in the right place for the header files. #2: Set USE="-kde" for taskjuggler. You'll have to apply mephinet's patch at http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=234385 to the ebuild to get taskjuggler to compile without KDE support.
By the way, this is a dupe of #253231.

Could someone with KDE give 2.4.3 a try? The ebuild is attached to bug 291158.
Just tried it myself by building 2.4.3 with KDE use flag - still reproducible: configure: error: KDEPIM header files no found. Please make sure you have KDEPIM and the corresponding development packages installed!
Any KDE3 feat. should be simply disabled in 2.4.3 (bug 291158, added to the depends list of this bug).
The include path is set depending on where the file ksharedptr.h is installed in. If you have kde-base/kdelibs 4.3 installed, this file is found in /usr/include. So the path does not get set to /usr/kde/.../include. If I replace ksharedptr.h in the acinclude.m4 with e.g. kapp.h solves the configure issue for me, as then the include path is set correctly to /usr/kde/3.5/include/
(In reply to comment #6) > Any KDE3 feat. should be simply disabled in 2.4.3 (bug 291158, added to the > depends list of this bug). Sorry, Samuli, I don't quite get it. Are you trying to say that you want 2.4.3 to completely drop the KDE dependency? Or do you want 2.4.3 to be configurable to be built without KDE? Because if you want to achieve the latter, I agree with you - but this bug here shows up if you have KDE *enabled*...

If it's a support for only KDE3, then it should be entirely dropped. If there is a support for KDE4, that's be nice to have around.
