Description Vyacheslv Gvostiev 2009-08-08 07:28:18 UTC
I strictly install new system based on stage3-i686-20090804.tar.bz2 due to x86 quick install guide. At code listing 2.19 my console say's

   livecd / # time emerge gentoo-sources

!!! /etc/make.profile is not a symlink and will probably prevent most merges.
!!! It should point into a profile within /usr/portage/profiles/
!!! (You can safely ignore this message when syncing. It's harmless.)

!!! If you have just changed your profile configuration, you should revert
!!! back to the previous configuration. Due to your current profile being
!!! invalid, allowed actions are limited to --help, --info, --sync, and
   !!! --version.

   real	0m0.453s
   user	0m0.330s
   sys	0m0.040s
   livecd / #

It's likely /etc/make.conf should be first fulfilled before chrooting as in gentoo linux x86 handbook chapter 6.a code listing 1.1, 1.2

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Install gentoo due to x86 quick installation guide
2.
3.
