While working in Gentoo, after the upgrade to xorg-server-1.6.3, X crashes (hangs). Two (sometimes - one time) turns off the screen at the end of a black screen and the system does not respond to any commands. Logs attached. --- Perhaps this occurs when you click or mouse movement. Anyway, the last two times the hang happened when you click, and once when moving the mouse. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. emerge --sync && emerge --regen 2. emerge -uDNva @system @world 3.

It is probably your fglrx binary module that broke with the new xorg. What version of ati-drivers do you have installed? Also, please show output of 'emerge --info'

Yesterday xorg hangs twice when I clicked.
ty to add to INPUT_DEVICES evdev flag
I am not using evdev, I use the standard -input-mouse -input-keyboard driver.
Would you mind switching to xf86-video-ati driver for a while, see if the crashes go away? If the crashes go away, then it's probably the video driver causing instability and this bug will go to ati-drivers maintainers; if the problem occurs with both video drivers, then the x11 team should take a look.
Oddly, when I once again updated the portage tree in a few hours and update the world - all earned.
Sounds like this bug is fixed then :)
Yes, the bug does not appear.
