Description Vladimir Brik 2009-08-05 03:27:42 UTC
Cannot emerge app-emulation/wine-1.1.26 using portage-2.2_rc3[356] with alsa support enabled.

Portage believes wine depends on alsa-lib[midi], but the midi flag has been removed from alsa-lib ebuilds.

wine-1.1.26.ebuild has no mention of midi use flag, so I am thinking it could be a problem with portage; 2.2_rc3[356] seem to be affected.

Versions of wine below 1.1.26 seem to be OK.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
later ~ # emerge =app-emulation/wine-1.1.26
Calculating dependencies... done!

emerge: there are no ebuilds built with USE flags to satisfy "media-libs/alsa-lib[midi]".
!!! One of the following packages is required to complete your request:
- media-libs/alsa-lib-1.0.19 (Missing IUSE: midi)
- media-libs/alsa-lib-1.0.17a (Missing IUSE: midi)
(dependency required by "app-emulation/wine-1.1.26" [ebuild])
(dependency required by "=app-emulation/wine-1.1.26" [argument])

Comment 1 Vladimir Brik 2009-08-06 22:12:33 UTC
I suspect this is a portage bug because "emerge -av =app-emulation/wine-1.1.25" is working fine but wine-1.1.25.ebuild and wine-1.1.26.ebuild differ only in $Header line:

later wine # diff wine-1.1.25.ebuild wine-1.1.26.ebuild
3c3
< # $Header: /var/cvsroot/gentoo-x86/app-emulation/wine/wine-1.1.25.ebuild,v 1.2 2009/08/01 06:58:00 ssuominen Exp $

Comment 2 Zac Medico gentoo-dev 2009-08-06 22:31:42 UTC
Maybe you have a wine ebuild in PORTDIR_OVERLAY?
Comment 3 Vladimir Brik 2009-08-06 22:40:52 UTC
Yep, had an old version of the ebuild in PORTDIR_OVERLAY with a custom patch.

Thanks Zac!
