As a bug wrangler, it is often part of my job to ask for additional information and mark the bug as assigned to bug-wranglers@gentoo.org and wait for a response from the reporter. Bugz for some reason will not permit me to change the status from NEW to ASSIGNED. I've been attempting with: bugz modify -s ASSIGNED <bugid> Note that I can do this operation by changing the radio buttons below the comment field to "Accept bug (change status to ASSIGNED)" which marks the bug as assigned to bug-wranglers@gentoo.org. I just attempted to mark this bug assigned, and it was not successful. I'll take a look at this.
Created attachment 200318 [details, diff] allows bugz to assign a bug properly This is a patch to bugzilla.py. When I looked at it, it did not appear that you have any actions to the knobs for when --status=ASSIGNED. Patch adds an elif that does the correct action. Applying the patch fixes this issue, please feel free to use the changes :).
