Seems like a typical endian problem (HPPA being bigendian), but the better question is whether this test failure matters, or if the test itself is flawed. If not, stabilisation should continue. If you would be so kind as to consult UPSTREAM about this matter, this would be greatly appreciated.
Does this bug occur also with dev-python/gdata-2.0.1?
(In reply to comment #1) > Does this bug occur also with dev-python/gdata-2.0.1? Please, if you have any indication that a new version fixes the issue, then tell us so. If not, please don't make me waste time testing versions where nothing has changed.
Seems it does.
No wait. 2.0.1 is far too new to stabilise and draws in a spanking brand new eselect-python.
If dev-python/gdata-2.0.1 works for you and you would like to stabilize it quickly and stabilization of >=dev-python/gdata-2.0.0 is required before stabilization of dev-lang/python-2.6.2-r1 on HPPA, then we could rename dev-python/gdata-2.0.1 to dev-python/gdata-2.0.1-r1 and remove dependency on >=app-admin/eselect-python-20090804 from dev-python/gdata-2.0.1.
It seems from a quick glance at a diff -ur of 2.0.0 vs 2.0.1 that the test suite changes weren't as important here as some unicode related changes, so I'd like to stabilise 2.0.1. Yes, please do.
(In reply to comment #6) Done.

Appears that nothing is fixed after all.

Works on SPARC too.
Fixed in 2.0.1, 2.0.1-r1 and 2.0.2.
