xorg-server-1.3.0.0-r6 depends on xf86-input-evdev at the moment it means, it depends at least on x11-drivers/xf86-input-evdev-2.1.3 this ebuild depends however on >=x11-base/xorg-server-1.5.3 This prevents using xorg-server-1.3.0.0 and have up-to-date portage repository available. I HAVE TO stick to xorg-server-1.3.0.0 because never versions of x11-drivers/xf86-video-mga are completely broken for DUAL-HEAD (see #267080). Please leave all dependencies for xorg-server-1.3.0.0 in portage (make sure all dependencies are there without conflicts with never xorg versions) or incorporate all necessary patches for the mga driver so that it works. Indeed, xorg-server-1.3 ebuild needs evdev which needs at least xorg-server-1.5. xorg-server-1.4 has the same issue.
Sorry, I won't change 1.3 nor 1.4. Both are going to be masked and then removed. If you have issues with xf86-video-mga, please file bugs in FreeDesktop's bugzilla so that upstream can actually fix bugs. Thanks
The "mga-DualHead" bug is known for many months, if not years, already, but nobody cares to include available patches in upstream distribution.
Usually, bugs get forgotten when a patch is written but never tested by the one who reported the bug. Please (re)open the relevant bug reports in our bugzilla pointing to the relevant ones in FreeDesktop's bugzilla so I can commit them upstream directly. Gentoo isn't a one way street, we rely on users to do our job correctly. Thanks
