Description Jeremy Olexa (darkside) (RETIRED) archtester gentoo-dev Security 2009-08-01 02:24:53 UTC
This package has interactive gtk tests. Not acceptable to make the user click 'ok' to continue. Please disable.
Comment 1 Nirbheek Chauhan (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-08-01 09:27:42 UTC
The default tests are interactive, but we have a script under ${FILESDIR}/run-tests that is *not* interactive (uses Xemake etc), and that is the script which is run when src_test is run.

How did you see the tests as interactive?
Comment 2 Nirbheek Chauhan (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-08-01 10:01:01 UTC
OK, I just tested it again, and with recent portage, it seems the tests have started to use the current X server :|
Comment 3 Nirbheek Chauhan (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-08-01 14:14:10 UTC
Something changed somewhere in the stack resulting in XAUTHORITY leaking into src_test, which caused Xemake to use the user's X instance. I've committed a workaround that unsets XAUTHORITY in src_test to force spawning of Xvfb

Forgot to say thy are not interactive (they disappere after a while) but they are there...
Comment 6 Gilles Dartiguelongue (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-02-23 19:45:21 UTC
that's simply because you have xhost installed, remove it and tests will go into xvfb.
Comment 7 Xake 2010-02-23 19:59:12 UTC
Sorry but I find that ironic:

# emerge -1av libunique

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies... done!
[ebuild N ] x11-apps/xhost-1.0.3 USE="-debug -ipv6" 0 kB [0]
[ebuild R ] dev-libs/libunique-1.1.6 USE="dbus test -debug -doc -introspection" 0 kB [1]

(the result is the same for libunique-1.0.8 on this system)

Reopening per previous comment.
Comment 9 Nirbheek Chauhan (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-02-28 06:52:47 UTC
Problem was caused due to env leakage of DISPLAY. Fixed now, thanks for reporting.
