INFO - Bug reported @ mozilla.org (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=506892)

They say do it here so here goes;

As the summary says, if you have a tab open on any Arsenal.com page and you leave said page through navigation or closing the tab, then firefox crashes. With the debug information that I have; it's a flash issue but only seems to affect this site.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Enjoy Arsenal.com for 5mins (same page
2.Leave page and seg fault
3.profit?

Actual Results:
Firefox crashes

Expected Results:
Leave the page as normal or tab close as normal

www-client/mozilla-firefox-3.5.1 USE="dbus iceweasel java -bindist -custom-optimization -gnome -mozdevelop -restrict-javascript -startup-notification" LINGUAS="en_GB

www-plugins/adobe-flash-10.0.22.87-r2 [10.0.22.87] USE="32bit 64bit%* (multilib)"

Note - This has been happening for a while now, both on 64bit and 32bit. I'm only reporting bug now because with each 3.x release of firefox I was hoping it was fixed!

Please don't add arch teams to CC.

Sorry my bad, thought I was just pointing out it was both on 64bit and 32bit Gentoo.

I have not been able to duplicate this. It appears to be a gcc bug, If you could please emerge xulrunner and firefox with CFLAGS="-O2 -pipe" and test again.

It's already on -o2 -pipe (was originally compiled without -ggdb" should I remove the -march setting or change it to something else?

I would like you to drop the -march for testing of xulrunner firefox.

I have done so, still crashes. Although I can't debug it now, I used to have the same problem on 32bit Gentoo as well.

It is your flashplayer crashing firefox, nothing we can do, you will need to file a bug with adobe if you want to get it fixed.

I figured as much, it's just very strange that it's only this website that seems to crash firefox. Will file a bug now over with them

Re-assigning to flash folks

Can you please try again with www-plugins/adobe-flash-10.8.32.18 which reportedly fixes a number of crash situations?

Running this flash with firefox-3.5.2/xulrunner-1.9.1.2 right now on an amd64 machine, and I can't replicate the crash.
Comment 13 Christopher May 2009-08-28 06:12:02 UTC
Hi, I tried the latest flash and it still crashes (It's annoying because you have to keep making sure to close an arsenal website page or read it quickly).

Comment 14 Jim Ramsay (lack) (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-02-16 16:10:33 UTC
Another version of flash is out, Try 10.0.45.2...

If this doesn't fix it for you, I'm not sure what else I can suggest, besides reporting it to adobe directly:
  https://bugs.adobe.com/flashplayer/

They're the only ones who can really help.
