Description Kurt Willson 2009-07-28 22:02:19 UTC
Recent upgrade to unstable parted-1.9.0 causes qtparted-4.5.0 build to fail. parted-1.9.0(~) added to portage july, 26. qtparted requires >=parted-1.6.7 , accepting unstable, if system does.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge parted-1.9.0(~)
2. emerge qtparted-0.4.5
3. confirm failure

Actual Results:

Expected Results:
expected build to finish clean, however not totally surprised by result of unstabled parted.

Comment 2 James Earl Spahlinger 2009-07-29 02:30:29 UTC
what needs done here I think is adding <sys-apps/parted-1.9 to the ebuild. Does it build with =sys-apps/parted-1.8.8?
Comment 3 R Bar-On 2009-07-29 06:53:44 UTC
qtparted hasn't been maintained in 4 years. It should probably be removed unless someone wants to take the project over.
Comment 4 Kurt Willson 2009-07-29 14:37:17 UTC
can confirm qtparted-4.5.0 does build clean with parted-1.8.8.
I'm keeping parted stable from this point forward.
Comment 5 Víctor Ostorga (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-07-29 16:20:20 UTC
A patch has been commited in portage, now you will be able to build =sys-apps/qtparted-0.4.5 against =sys-apps/parted-1.9.0
