Fluent in bash, minimal python knowledge. Reason for wanting to help out : I find myself making my own ebuilds for software that is in portage but months and months behind. Can dedicate from 1-4hrs a day 5 days a week.

anything not GUI related is always fun for me. net-www / app-admin / app-crypt / net-misc / net-mail .. etc. I'm not too picky. I've recently submitted a "new version" build for app-misc/gpsdrive
Wrote this to make it easy for me to search through portage via the web. It's very close to the page on the Gentoo website, except it has a search feature and doesn't show dependences. The main things I wanted was quick search speed and web accessable, plus up to date. It seems like the one on gentoo's website gets behind. sorry -- missed this the first time around. The script looks handy, but unfortunately, we removed that version of the online package database in favor of packages.gentoo.org.
Of course that script is old. It was written in August! Haven't since worked on it due to the change, and no need for it. It was just an example of my coding. It's amazing that I volunteer to help 5-20hrs a week, and the request sits since September 9th. I guess the project really doesn't need any volunteers, or maybe it does so that bugs can get resolved in a timely fashon. Kind Regards, Mike

I gave him to rac to work with since he likes perl. Rac gave him some things to do a couple weeks back, and has not heard anything since then. It's a bit like he just disappeared. I think for now this bug should be closed. If he wants to become a dev, he needs to decide what he wants to do, and actually work with the people who want to give him a chance.
