There are 44 patches brought in by -r1, are you game for bisecting the set to find which one kills your display...? Actually it would be good to start with posting your hardware details, so patches that only apply to other video cards can be taken off the list of suspects.
(In reply to comment #1) > There are 44 patches brought in by -r1, are you game for bisecting the set to > find which one kills your display...? > Yes. But not in the nearest time I'm afraid. I'll try however. > Actually it would be good to start with posting your hardware details, so > patches that only apply to other video cards can be taken off the list of > suspects. > Ups. My error. ATI Radeon XPress 200M RC410 on ThinkPad R51e
Make it boot => it crash. Reboot, interactively disable the start of Xdm. Update to the driver which works. start your X. paste /var/log/Xorg.0.log.old might be usefull. Used patches: http://cgit.freedesktop.org/xorg/driver/xf86-video-ati/log/?h=6.12-branch Those of interest for you: anything stating r3xx-r5xx or rv4xx also anything not specifying any card it uses.
Test as requested in above comment.
