When I left kjobviewer running for 14 hours its kdeinit process had consumed 260Mb of virtual memory of which 137Mb where held in the resident set. KDE was compiled with g++ (GCC) 3.2.3 20030422 (Gentoo Linux 1.4 3.2.3-r2, propolice) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start kjobviewer 2. Wait... 3. Use top (or other tool of free choice) Actual Results: Top showed that a single kdeinit process had taken a lot of memory, the machine begun to swap wildly (I have only 256Mb physical memory). When I stopped the kjobviewer the mentioned kdeinit process disappeared and memory was returned to the system. If you leave it running the system might freeze, I think... Expected Results: Obvious! No leaks allowed! I am using cups-1.1.19, one printer is configured. I have reported it to kde.org (bug id: 62945) but seen no progress. I don't know if gentoo tweaks the kde-packages in anyway, that's why I decided to post here too.

Nope, we don't mess with the source other than minor fixes and patches.
